How faster is your website loading?
If your website or sales funnels are taking over 3 seconds to load you are losing A LOT of visitors and potential sales. On average, people have an attention span of fewer than 8 seconds. So waiting over 3 seconds for a page to load has them moving on before they even see what you have to offer on your website.
So I always run my finished funnel pages through GTMetrix. The funnel I just created is a simple two-step lead magnet. After adding images, background photos, a mockup and some icons to the squeeze page, my funnel was loading in 3.5 seconds. Still not bad right? 👍🏻
But I knew it could be faster.🚀
So I looked at the report from GT Metrix and I suggest you do the same if you want to improve your site speed too. I discovered that my uploaded images were not at optimal sizes. GT Metrix even told me the optimal size of the images that were loading slowly.
So I took the images and did the following:
- Re-sized them in Canva.
- Compressed the file using ImageOptim (free app for Macs).
- Then compress the file again using TinyPNG (free as well just Google it).
My Results
My website load speed went from 3.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds! 🤩🥳
Using the correct size images and minifying them really does help to speed up your site. I hope this helps someone who is using a photo-heavy site. https://www.loom.com/share/4a89dc3f1fff4240bc1594e529477517
